Designer AZEDE JEAN-PIERRE’s mission is to create clothing that empowers women; both figuratively and quite literally with initiatives that give back to the country where she was born: Haiti. As Azede prepares to show her next collection, we take a closer look at SS17, worn by the beautiful Cici Ali.

1Design goals:
To create objects to be desired or treasured, and make sure they are balanced and meticulously crafted.
2Design process:
It can literally start with anything, but usually it starts with a mood. An emotion.
3Who is the Azede girl?
She’s a sophisticated free spirit. A world traveler, an explorer with a natural sense of curiosity. A connoisseur of the very best things; she is self aware, feminine, bold, and a bit militant.
4You’re most proud of a piece when:
When there is a balance between the wearability and the design. When it’s both clever and comfortable.
5Go-to outfit:
Fitted knit top and loose pant with loafers.
6Why did you choose to show in Paris again this year?
I feel the collection and the aesthetic of the brand is a great fit with Paris.
7What can we expect from this next collection?
Expect engineering; new shapes that you can live in but that stand out.
